v0.1.0 preview for Windows

Play games with your
guitar.

6StringPad turns a real electric guitar into a game controller. Record your own playing, map it to keys, mouse buttons and macros, and perform inside any PC game or application. No MIDI gear, no special hardware - just your guitar and an audio interface.

Everything a guitar needs to be a controller

Physical template recognition

Recognizes your actual playing from captured audio: attacks, pitch, chords and techniques such as palm mute and harmonics. Every player sounds different, so the recognizer learns yours.

Your templates, five takes

Record a few takes of each action, review the TAB-like pattern it heard, correct anything, and save. No waveform editing, no signal-processing knowledge required.

Keys, mouse and macros

Map any riff to keyboard keys or mouse buttons, or record a macro with real key timing. Performed overlap stays editable as key intervals.

Holds and sustained input

Sustained techniques map to sustained game input. Hold with tail note, hold lock and note-triggered tail branches keep long gestures under your fingers.

Play Guide overlay

An always-on-top guide window (Alt+G) shows what to play next without stealing focus from your game, so you can look at one screen while you perform.

Safety ledger

A global emergency stop shortcut instantly releases every held key. Held input is tracked by a ledger, so nothing stays stuck when a song ends mid-note.

From guitar to gameplay in three steps

  1. Plug in

Connect your electric guitar to any USB audio interface and select it in 6StringPad.

  2. Record

Play each action a few times. The app clusters your takes, shows the pattern as TAB, and saves it as your personal template.

  3. Play

Map templates to keys and macros, open your game, and start performing. What you play is what the game receives.

Requirements

Windows 10 or 11 (64-bit) - a USB audio interface - an electric guitar. That is the whole rig.
